SYNOPSIS
The Lesson, directed by Stefano Mordini, stars Elisabetta (Matilda De Angelis), a young and brilliant lawyer from Trieste.
She has just achieved a sensational courtroom victory by defending and securing the acquittal of a renowned university professor (Stefano Accorsi) who was accused of sexual assault. When the man, now reintegrated into society but pushed to the margins of academia, asks her to file a lawsuit against the university, Elisabetta agrees. But something inside her begins to trouble her.
As she finds herself once again close to a powerful man accused of abuse, her own personal past resurfaces with overwhelming force. Strange signs, unsettling encounters, and a growing sense of danger lead her to suspect that her former partner (Marlon Joubert)—already convicted for stalking and obsessive behavior toward her—has returned to torment her.
But is that really the truth?
As the tension escalates, the boundary between reality and paranoia becomes increasingly blurred. Elisabetta finds herself alone, caught between the need to uncover the truth and the fear that her own mind may be deceiving her.
In a mounting spiral of suspense, she is forced to confront the most ambiguous sides of justice, guilt, and her own identity.
