8:30 PM – Lovita by Vito Vinci (136 min) – Introduction by director Vito Vinci.
SYNOPSIS
Lovita, directed by Vito Vinci, is set in Rome in the early 2020s, a city marked by digital transformation and the aftermath of a pandemic.
The story takes place in particular in Trastevere, a historic working-class neighborhood threatened by real estate speculation and commercial homogenization. After her mother’s death, Lovita (Priscilla Terenzi), a young precarious teacher, returns to the neighborhood where she grew up, facing financial difficulties and an uncertain future while witnessing a gradual social decline.
Together with her childhood friend Lucio (Francesco Paolo Amoroso), a theater director, she fights to save Il Cantiere, a historic cultural center at risk of closure. At the same time, she must deal with the crisis of her uncle Edmondo (Andrea Planamente), a blind pianist who has abandoned music and fallen into a self-destructive spiral that eventually leads him to attempt suicide.
From this trauma, a radical reaction emerges: Lovita creates an “anti-porn” website aimed at promoting a more conscious vision of eroticism, putting herself at the center of the project. The initiative achieves unexpected success but also attracts the attention of an obsessive stalker, Tio Pio (Simeone D’Antona).
From that moment, a chain of events begins that will forever change the lives of the protagonists, as they navigate civic commitment, personal discovery, and the struggle to preserve what remains of their identity.
