The Drama – A Secret Is Forever, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, tells the story of Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Robert Pattinson), a seemingly perfect couple on the eve of their wedding.
Charlie, of English origin, is a brilliant art historian and director of the Cambridge Art Museum. Emma, an English graduate, works as a bookstore clerk and is convinced she knows the man she is about to marry inside out. But in the days leading up to the big day, their carefully laid plans begin to unravel. A shocking secret, long hidden, comes to light, triggering a series of unexpected revelations that challenge everything one of them thought they knew about the other. The resulting crisis shakes their engagement, turning the anticipation of the wedding into unstable ground filled with suspicion, misunderstandings, and hidden truths.
Following Emma and Charlie as they confront the collapse of their certainties, the film explores, with both irony and unease, the dynamics of a couple, the weight of expectations, and the vulnerabilities that surface when the idealized image of love clashes with reality. Just days before the ceremony, their love story undergoes a radical change, leaving open the question of how well one can truly know the person standing beside them.
