Anthropocene is the completion, following Manufactured Landscapes and Watermark, of a trilogy of documentaries about the impact of human activity on our planet.

It is a journey across six continents, narrated by the voice of Alicia Vikander, showing the different ways in which humanity is exploiting Earth’s resources and reshaping the planet as never before.

The documentary presents 43 of the world’s most severe environmental disasters, including one in Italy: the devastation of the Apuan Alps, caused by intensive marble extraction, now largely used to produce calcium carbonate.
